Case Study: House Extension in Kingston
10 February 2025

HICL extends successfully into Kingston. Andy and Fiona are delighted and they have already referred a new client since we completed this case study.

Project Overview:

Home Improvements & Construction Ltd recently took on an extensive extension project in the heart of Kingston. We are delighted to say that our clients, the lovely couple, Andy and Fiona are absolutely ecstatic about the final product. Their house has been extended, which means they don't need to look elsewhere to buy, and it is now even more modern, spacious and full of light. Our team at HICL combined expertise, technology and sustainable solutions to complete this project.

We spoke with Andy and Fiona to get their views on the project. Here is what they said:

a) What did you want to achieve with this project?

We wanted to resolve any problem areas to make the house easier and more comfortable to live in, to have a downstairs toilet, larger kitchen and living space. We were not happy with the layout as it was and since having the work done, we have really benefited from a more open-plan living space that flows really well. The natural light afforded by the roof lights has really opened up the space further and made it feel much larger.

b) How did you come across HICL?

Our friends were in the middle of their build and had done a lot of research into a few local building companies and after visiting to see the build it just seemed silly not to use her hard work and go with you too! Our friends were having a large extension and loft built and as mentioned, they had done plenty of research to feel confident that HICL would be able to handle such a project. We were impressed with HICL’s speed and efficiency and that was important to us with our build, so it was an easy decision to make!

c) How do you feel your relationship with HICL was during the project?

Attentive, convivial, and collaborative where appropriate, with fab suggestions from both sides enabling us to pick the best! They also recommended an electric curtain company that we decided to use and we are really happy with the results. The curtains finish the room beautifully and add a touch of elegance to our great new living space.

d) How would you rate HICL's work and how happy are you with the completed project?

Very happy, and, without exception, a lovely bunch of labourers and trades, and a wonderful result! You hear so often that people fall out with their builders or struggle to get the work completed, but I can honestly say, that never felt the case with the team at HICL and we have peace of mind with their guarantee, that if anything does arise in the future, the team will be back to resolve it.

e) Would you recommend HICL to your friends and family members?

Yes, without a doubt!
