Why should we use you?
-
Being VAT registered offers peace of mind that you are dealing with an accountable, established company.
We have completed numerous projects in our local area and continue to take on local work, which highlights our positive reputation.
-
Why should we use your company when we have had cheaper quotes?
-
Cheap is not synonymous with quality or expertise which are two things you can be assured of when choosing us but don’t just take our word for it.
Have a read of our customers quotes and once you have expressed an interest in using us, we will gladly arrange for you to visit a completed project in your area.
-
Do I need planning permission for a loft conversion?
-
This type of alteration to your house is classed as permitted development and therefore would not require planning permission.
However, there are strict guidelines and exceptions to this ruling which you can check here: http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/miniguides/lofts/Lofts.pdf
-
Are we responsible for organising building control for our extension?
-
You are at liberty to contact the council and organise this yourself but we do work closely with local building inspectors and we are happy to arrange this on your behalf as it often speeds up the process.
-
Will our project be completed without interruption?
-
Yes. We will never leave your project half finished for weeks on end whilst we work on other projects.
We agree a time frame with you in principle from the outset and this is what we adhere to unless you wish to make any amendments.
-
Will I always be able to get hold of someone to discuss my requirements during the project?
-
Yes. Our office hours are Monday to Saturday 08:00-17:00 and there will always be someone at the end of the phone.
Outside of these hours, we have an answer service which we aim to respond to the next working day.
-
Can I change my requirements once the project is underway?
-
Yes. Our aim is to deliver your vision for your build/renovation so we understand that this requires a degree of flexibility.
However, there is usually a cost implication which will not have been accounted for in the original quote so this would be communicated clearly with you.
-
Do you subcontract?
-
All of the tradespeople that work with HICL are qualified and experienced. We do subcontract some aspects of larger projects, such as plastering or plumbing for example. However, we do not subcontract to tradespeople who are unknown to HICL
