Project Overview:

Home Improvements & Construction Ltd (HICL) recently completed a full-scale home renovation and extension project on Seymour Gardens, Kingston. The property was a charming 1930s house which had remained untouched for decades. Upon moving in, the clients approached our team at HICL to completely refurbish the interiors and transform the property into a modern, family-friendly home. The project brief initially included a standard internal renovation, but then expanded into a multi-phase project involving a rear extension, loft conversion, and bespoke garden features—all designed and delivered by HICL’s experienced team.

Client Requirements:

The new homeowners required a complete internal upgrade to suit their growing family’s needs. The property needed extensive work including updated plumbing, electrics, flooring, and finishes. Once the internal renovation was complete, the clients—impressed by the quality and attention to detail—requested additional services. They wanted a spacious rear extension to open up the ground floor living space and a loft build-up to create an additional bedroom and bathroom. HICL also proposed a unique eco-conscious feature: a 3,500-litre underground rainwater storage system to support the garden’s irrigation and reduce water waste.

The Design and Build process:

Working closely with the family, HICL designed a phased build process that minimised disruption while ensuring a smooth transition between each stage. The internal refurbishment preserved key period features while upgrading the layout for modern living. The rear extension added an open-plan kitchen and dining area with garden views, and the loft conversion provided essential space for the growing family. At the back of the garden, we constructed a purpose-built gym studio and installed a luxurious hot tub, turning the outdoor area into a private wellness retreat.
